Candidate: Edye Lang Letter of Intent: Hi! Im Edye Lang, I am a freshman on College Ave., and I am running for Secretary of Hillel Board. If I am elected secretary, I am looking forward to doing all the tasks it entails with energy and spunk. I am looking forward to composing the weekly e-mail, writing the dry erase board, and creating the wall calendar, all because they are a large part of the greater Hillel idea—to bring as many people into the fold as possible. If nobody knows about an event, how do they know to come to it? They learn about events through the e-mail, the white board, and the wall calendar—all of which Ill be in charge in. Being secretary provides a great opportunity for those who want to get involved in Hillel, but dont know where to start, a job to do. The white board needs to get done every night, and there are plenty of people who volunteer to help do that. This provides an opportunity for others to get involved in a small way, so they contribute to the greater Hillel family in a small way. I chose to run for this position because I can bring excitement, excellence, and energy to the entire Hillel board. In my high school, Frisch, I held many leadership positions which challenged me and forced me to prove my abilities to lead. I was captain of the swim team, started Habitat for Humanity at Frisch, and served as manager of the basketball team. I also worked on the Adopt-A-Bubby program, where I called an elderly woman every week to keep her company ...
