I'm not the best read-out-loud-er. text: Since my mom's been in the hospital recovering from her surgery, my sister and I have been doing the bonding thing. Well, trying anyways. She already established that she doesn't respect me, then took it back and explained that what she really meant was that she didn't like me as much as she used to. But we've been able to not murder or maim each other so far. My neighbor drove us to Cooley Dick to see my mom after her surgery. The trip proved itself to be in vain, as she was very high on morphine. We fumbled around with a forced conversation-like thing, until my neighbor just gave up and took my sister and I to Barnes and Noble. It's difficult to have a running dialogue with someone who's had more than their fair share of morphine. My mom kept saying the same few words over and over again while making this hand motion that looked like she was coaxing a dog to come to her. As we left, she told us how thankful she was that we came out to see her, because she knew it was a long trip. We looked at each other, shook our heads and laughed as we walked out of the room. 20 minute ride from Amherst to Northampton. Speaking of incoherence, my sister spoke to me while she was sleeping. It's weird, because that's my thing.
